Português: Erguida em torno de Capela dos primeiros anos do século XVIII, sob invocação de Nossa Senhora do Pilar, foi Inaugurada em 1733 apesar de não estar concluída. Nesse ano, foi realizada a transladação do Santíssimo Sacramento, que saiu da Capela do Rosário para a nova Matriz do Pilar em um cortejo, o famoso Triunfo Eucarístico, evento de maior pompa do periodo aurífero. Considerada uma das Igrejas mais ricas de Minas Gerais, tem em seu interior toda a pintura folheada a ouro. Sua planta é atribuída ao arquiteto Pedro Gomes Chaves. Em 2012 foi elevada a Basílica. Abriga o museu de Arte Sacra de Ouro Preto, que reúne imagens, documentos e algumas das vestimentas usadas na celebração do Santíssimo Sacramento.
Museu de Arte Sacra, no Interior da Igreja - Integra o Museu de Arte Sacra, o conjunto dos bens integrados da Igreja Matriz do Pilar e os bens da exposição permanente.
