Summary edit

Description Just a few hundred of the two million or so wrinkle-lipped bats that leave Deer Cave in Gunung Mulu National Park on Borneo around sunset each evening. Each bat consumes around 1000 mosquitoes a night, adding up to an amazing 9 tons of mosquitoes in total - the main reason why there are so few mosquitoes in the park. The bats' spiral flightpath is an attempt to confuse bat hawks on the nearby cliffs, waiting for dinner.
