Finally, a new shoot! Not done anything for the last couple of months, which has been a real shame as Ive got this new Sony A7R and lenses. Anyway, today I decided to go and get something done.

So, meet Chloe. She is half Russian, half Lithuanian. 22 years old and a professional model/acrobat who now lives down in London. She came up for the day to work with a bunch of photographers and I only got an hour with her, but still managed to get some half decent shots.

She isn't the sort of model whom I normally work well with, as her look is more high fashion than the intimate, organic style I try and get. Her look is very sharp, with very clean lines and very elegant and this is the antithesis of what I normally work towards. Still, throw her on a sofa, get her clothes off and shower her in some natural light and you almost have someone that looks relaxed. See thats the problem. Some models model, some relax. The relaxed ones are better as you actually get to see who they are. The ones who model are simply acting to look their best. I don't particularly like this, I prefer for them to try and forget Im there and just be themselves. Great photos come from when the model is almost unaware that you are pointing a recording device at them. This wasn't the case with Chloe. She is a great model, but she's a MODEL. She wants to look beautiful in every shot and this leads people to looking false. So, I started trying to take photos before she was in POSE, trying to capture who she really was and not what she thought she was.
