English: Battery 223 on the NRHP since June 25, 2008. On the beach at Cape May State Park. Built just before WWII and was covered by earth, sand, sod. Worked in conjunction with batteries at Lewes, Delaware to control the entrance to Delaware Bay. Cape May Point Lighthouse is in the background, maybe 200 yards away
