| Description |
English: Looking south at the concrete trestle of the IND Rockaway Line crossing Beach 102nd Street above the Rockaway Freeway near the Beach 105th Street station in Seaside / Rockaway Beach, Queens. The trestle is distinct from other elevated lines in the Subway system, as it was constructed by the LIRR during grade-crossing elimination in the 1930s/1940s, before the line was taken over for the subway in 1955. The freeway meanwhile is notoriously dangerous, as it lacks sidewalks and bikeways, and runs under the subway's narrow rows of concrete beams for most of it's length. |
