Summary edit

Description
English: Beacon Hill, Flamborough, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
This view of Beacon Hill is taken from the junction of the footpath leading from Flamborough with the scenic coastal path (Headland Way). At Beacon Hill there has been found evidence of Mesolithic, early Neolithic and Beaker occupation. Beacon Hill takes its name from beacons that stood there in the 16th century. In 1588 there were three on the headland - one on the headland itself, one at the northern end of Dane's Dyke and one on Beacon Hill, which remained until 1834. The beacons consisted of iron hoops holding iron pans and were lit to warn of invasion.
