Description
English: Bear Road Looking down towards the junction with Lewes Road and Hollingdean Road. The road is named after the Bear Inn on the corner which itself was named after a venue which held bear baiting contests. The former Gaiety Cinema stood on the road opposite the funeral parlour until it was demolished in 1983 for the Vogue Gyratory named after the eight year period the cinema became a pornographic filmhouse with added strip shows.
