| Description | The beautiful building of the Dariali monastery of the Archangels in a fantastic mountain setting, nestling among the hills. Beautiful though as it is, I was feeling very uncomfortable about it's location, and the monks who live in it, as it is within three to five minutes from the Russian border! I read somewhere on someone's blog however that this is a pretty sensitive area because of the border. The border had been closed for a couple of years before and has just reopened recently, and the purpose of having a church here is to hope both countries will have peaceful relations. A sort of trying to appease the gods that the cordial relations between Georgians and Russians will continue and the two countries will not erupt into war again.
