English: Beck Isle Cottage
This is one of North Yorkshire's most famous picture postcard views. This photograph was taken from the end of a slipway on the eastern side of the Bridge over Thornton Beck. The path in front of the cottage is called Beck Isle and links the eastern end of Chestnut Avenue (behind the viewpoint and left) to Priestman's Lane (to the left). Compare the above photograph with this one taken, from almost the same viewpoint 31 years later: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/440318 . |
