Summary
editDescriptionBeckton STP, Final Outflow of Effluent into the Thames - geograph.org.uk - 1481935.jpg |
English: Beckton STP: Final Outflow of Effluent into the Thames The cleaned up secondary effluent from 1481916 is discharged into the Thames. The BOD (a measure of dissolved organic matter) is now around 4-8. This will be diluted tenfold by the river. The number of birds near the outfall (including fish-eating Cormorants) is an indication of the water's cleanliness. |
