| Description |
English: BedPan unit at St Albans Bedpan was the name given by Sir Peter Parker BR Chairmnan to the then recent electified line from Bedford to St Pancras. These new electric units were not introduced until union problems had been sorted over the manning as guards were not required on the trains and they ran as one man operation. This took some time to resolve with the result that sidings all over the area were full of brand new trains that could not be used. |
