English: Bees play an important role in our lives. They are pollinators which means they help plants fertilize and reproduce. This is necessary for the growth and quality of vegetation, which is important for crops. Bees also create food and shelter for other creatures. They help to maintain soil quality by pollinating plants that help to prevent erosion. Bees are responsible for pollinating many wildflowers, which provide habitat and food for other species. Bees boost the color and beauty of our countryside. Bees make it possible for humans to have food to eat, as ⅓ of our global food supply comes from bee pollination. This photo was taken in Pontianak City, West Borneo, Indonesia
