c/n A-764 / CA-164. Built in 1952 for the Royal Canadian Air Force with the serial ‘1564’ later renumbered ‘1593’. Retired from military service in 1968, she became CF-QPD in 1971 and between 1973 and 1982 she flew for Capital Air Surveys, spending time in Europe during 1979. While ferrying to North Africa in 1981 she was impounded at Prestwick and remained there until sold to Graham Warner’s ‘British Aerial Museum’ in 1982. Registered as G-BKGL, she was delivered to Duxford in July of that year and was repainted in a dark blue US Navy scheme as ‘164’. In 1989 she was repainted again into a basic USAAC silver scheme and carried the number ‘1164’. She remained Duxford based until 2012 when she moved on and gained her current, polished, colour scheme. Now based at Leicester, she is seen departing after visiting the Shuttleworth Collections Evening Airshow, Old Warden, Bedfordshire, UK.
