Description
English: Place: Hezhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

Chinese name: 北京BJ40L (běijīng BJ40L) Year of launch: 2008

Beijing Automobile Works (BAW) started producing cars in 1958. Classic models include the Jinggangshan, Dongfanghong, BJ750 and the legendary Beijing BJ212.

2008 saw the premiere of the Beijing B40 prototype and it hit the market as Beijing BJ40 at the very end of 2013 (!). It seems more like a Chinese interpretation of the Jeep Wrangler rather than the legendary Beijing BJ212. The foor-door version debuted as Beijing B70 in 2011, and entered the market in 2016 (!) as Beijing BJ40L. I saw this example at a BAIC dealership, which also sold the relatively upmarket Senova brand.
