עברית: עיר קדומה בשפלת יהודה, בין נחל גוברין לנחל מרשה, סמוך לקיבוץ בית גוברין. נזכרת בכתביו של יוסף בן מתתיהו (יוספוס

לאביוס) כ"בית גברי", ובמקורות חז"ל כ "בית גובריא". משמעו של השם בארמית הוא "בית הגברים", וע"פ המדרש ישבו במערות סביב היישוב ענקים, ומכאן שמה. ביוני 2014 הכריז ארגון אונסק"ו על בית גוברין ומרשה הסמוכה כאתר מורשת עולמית.
