English: A U.S. Navy Bell-Boeing CMV-22B Osprey (BuNo 169435) is shown during a reveal ceremony on 7 February 2020, at the Bell Assembly Center in Amarillo, Texas (USA). The CMV-22B is a variant of the MV-22B Osprey and is the replacement for the Grumman C-2A Greyhound for the carrier onboard delivery (COD) mission. Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 21 (HX-21) will lead developmental test efforts for the program and the first operational squadron, Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron 30 (VRM-30), is scheduled to receive the aircraft in the summer of 2020. The CMV-22B will transport up to 6,000 lb (2,700 kg) from shore bases to aircraft carriers at sea over a 1,150 nautical mile (2,100 km) range. |
