Description
English: Bell Barrow in Shoulder of Mutton Wood, looking South On Medway Valley Walk and North Downs Way (long distance path) from Borstal to Wouldham Common. The Wood has been here since AD1600, and is made of mostly Beech Trees. It is 2.2 Hectares in size and is managed by the Woodland Trust since 1993. Also in the wood is the Bell Barrow, a national monument (no.23020) it is from early Bronze Age (1500-1100BC)earth funeral mound on crest of chalk ridge. Bell Barrow is under English Heritage.
