English: The historic Bellaire streetcar at Paseo Park. Now numbered 124, it is former Porto, Portugal car 173, built in Porto in 1929 but based on streetcars the Porto streetcar system had previously purchased from Philadelphia-based J.G. Brill Company in the early 20th century – and similar to streetcars that operated in Bellaire. It was imported from Portugal in 1985 by Oregon-based streetcar importer Gales Creek Enterprises, restored and placed on display in Bellaire in autumn 1985. It was renumbered 124, in honor of a streetcar that had run on the former Bellaire system. |
