Summary edit

Description
English: The Naval Annual of 1887 contained this drawing of the 16.25 inch gun of the HMS Benbow, on page 441 in the section Armour and ordnance. To illustrate 50 years of gun developement, there was also a drawing of the largest gun of 1837, the 42-pounder. The 42-pounder was not very common in 1837, with the normal gun for ships of the line being the 32-pounder. Compared to that, the gun on the Benbow could be described as an 1,800-pounder.
