editDescriptionBend in the road near Llandyfrydog Church - geograph.org.uk - 1229564.jpg |
English: Bend in the road near Llandyfrydog Church The roof of Ty Mawr can be seen on the left and a terrace of derelict cottages on the right. In the 18th and 19thCs, Llandyfrydog was home to miners working in the Mynydd Parys Copper Mines. The closure of the mines and the reduction in the number of labourers employed on farms in the first half of the 20thC led to a marked depletion in the population of the hamlet and the abandonment of many dwellings. |
