English: PM Olmert to Commissioner: "Thank you to the police on behalf of all Israeli citizens"

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, arrived today at the national headquarters of the Israel Police and thanked the Commissioner General Yohanan Danino and the Israel Police for their work during the days of Operation Pillar of Cloud.

"I first came to say thank you to you and to the people, commanders, policemen and volunteers of the Israel Police," he said in his opening remarks, "You are exceptional and with extraordinary success. You are the main backbone of the work in the home front, together with other forces, you have done it well with skill, dedication, loyalty. And I want to thank you on behalf of all the citizens of Israel." Later, Netanyahu told the senior staff of the police that during the campaign, "I know there is someone to trust."

The commissioner thanked the prime minister for his visit to the headquarters immediately after Operation Pillar of Cloud, emphasizing: "I am proud to be the commander of such a police force. My hope is that we will know in the future only days of peace and security. I am confident that the Israel Police will respond to the mission with the example and role model set by them during Operation Pillar of Cloud. "
