Benjamin Roth, Aviation Mechanic, who was hurled into the icy Antarctic waters when the outer edge of the barrier collapsed and kept himself afloat by grasping pieces of floating ice until rescued, being brought aboard the “Eleanor Bolling” colder than when he was in the water, July 1929.
