Description
Deutsch: Der Meistersaal in der Köthener Straße 38 in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Das Gebäude wurde 1912 von den Architekten Gieseke und Wenzke als Bürohaus des Verbands der Baugeschäfte von Berlin und den Vororten errichtet. Der heute geläufige Name leitet sich von dem gleichnamigen Kammermusiksaal ab, in dem ursprünglich die Meisterbriefe überreicht wurden. Das Gebäude ist als Baudenkmal gelistet.
English: The Meistersaal at Köthener Straße No. 38 in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The building was constructed in 1912 by the architects Gieseke and Wenzke as office building for the Union of Building Companies of Berlin and Outer Boroughs. The name is derived from the chamber music hall in the building, where the master craftsman certificates were originally presented. The building has been designated as a cultural heritage monument.
