Deutsch: Das ehemalige Postamt N4, Am Nordbahnhof 3/5, in Berlin-Mitte. Das Gebäude wurde 1934-1935 nach Entwürfen von Georg Werner als zentrale Großverteilanlage für den Norden Berlins errichtet und zeigt eine Verbindung der Formen der Neuen Sachlichkeit der 1920er-Jahre mit Tendenzen der nationalsozialistischen Architektur. Das Gebäude ist als Baudenkmal gelistet.
English: The former Postal Office N4, Am Nordbahnhof 3/5, in Berlin-Mitte. The building was constructed from 1934 to 1935 to a design by Georg Werner as central mail distribution facility for the north of Berlin. Its design shows a combination of New Objectivity with the vocabulary of National Socialist architecture. The building has been dedicated as a historic landmark. |
