Description
Deutsch: Das Schuberthaus in der Poststraße 21-22 im Nikolaiviertel in Berlin-Mitte, seit 2006 vom Kölner Kunstauktionshaus "Kunsthaus Lempertz" genutzt. Das dreigeschossige spätklassizistische Eckgebäude mit ausgebautem Dachgeschoss wurde um 1870 als Geschäftshaus für die Firma C.A. Schubert errichtet und nach Zerstörung im Zweiten Weltkrieg 1956-1957 wieder aufgebaut. Die Fassade an der Poststraße wird im Ergeschoss durch runde Halbsäulen gegliedert, darüber kragt ein kräftiges Gesims hervor. In der DDR-Zeit befand sich hier das Wasserstraßenhauptamt, danach das Wasser- und Schifffahrtsamt Berlin. Eine Gedenktafel erinnert an die Baugeschichte des Hauses. Als Teil des Bauensembles Nikolaiviertel steht das Gebäude unter Denkmalschutz.
