Summary edit
English: The two remaining of formerly three rectory buildings of the Protestant Dreifaltigkeitskirche (Trinity Church) in Berlin-Mitte, destroyed in WWII. Located at the corner of Taubenstraße (on the left) and Glinkastraße, they were erected in 1739 by the master builders of Dreifaltigkeitskirche, Titus Favre and J.K. Stoltze. These are the only remaining 18th century residential buildings in Friedrichstadt, which still have their original height and facade design. They are therefore unique documents of the early development of the Friedrichstadt. The house on the left served as parsonage for the Lutherans, the house on the right accommodated the congregational school. A third house on Glinkastraße (destroyed in WWII) was the parsonage for the Reformed Church (the Calvinists). The buildings are landmarked. |
