Description
Deutsch: Berthold Sonnabend, Hüte, Mützen, Wohlau (heute Wołów) in Oberschlesien. Einkauf und Ausarbeiten aller Arten rohe Felle.
Am 1. April 1967 bestand die Firma Sonnabend 100 Jahre. Gegründet wurde sie 1867 von Berthold Sonnabend in Wohlau, einer Kreisstadt in Mittelschlesien mit der Zurichtung von Fellen aller Art und der Verarbeitung zu fertigen Pelzwaren. Meist waren das, der Zeit entsprechend, Mäntel für Kutscher, Nachtwächter und Windmüller aus Schaf- und Lammfellen, daneben aber auch Fellarten wie Bisam, Hamster, Biber, Fischotter, Hermelin, Nutria, Maulwurf und Kanin. Der Sohn Max erlernte bei seinem Vater die Pelzzurichtung und die Pelzverarbeitung. 1993 machte sich Max in Guhrau selbständig, ohne die Zurichterei. 1916 starb der Gründer Berthold Sonnabend, seitdem bestand nur noch die Kürschnerei in Guhrau. 1935 übernahm der Enkel Hanns Sonnabend das Geschäft. 1939 starb sein Vater Max. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg übernahm die Familie in Lüdenscheid die Räume einer kleinen Schneiderei, 1952 zog Hanns Sonnabend mit anderen ostvertriebenen Handwerkern in eine neuerrichtete Ladenstraße in Lüdenscheid. Die beiden Söhne wurden ebenfalls Kürschnermeister, der ältere Sohn Rudolf arbeitete im väterlichen Geschäft, der zweite Hans Georg machte sich in Meinerzhagen selbständig.
