Description
English: As part of the ‘Bharat Parv’ activities, 1,075 students from 16 schools visited Naval Base, Kochi on 30 and 31 January 2018. The aim of the visit was to instill a sense of pride in the children about the Armed Forces and to acquaint them with the role and mission of the Indian Navy. The school children were given a conducted tour of Indian Naval Ships Sutlej and Shardul and were briefed on the role and equipment fit. This was followed by a visit to Naval Air Station INS Garuda, where they were familarised with various fixed wing aircraft and helicopters operated by the Indian Navy. The children also witnessed a concert by the Indian Naval Band as part of the visit.
