In Aryaghat, especially the corpses of VVIPs are cremated, while for the general public, the corpses are cremated at Bhasmeshwar Ghat. It is called Bhashmeshwar Ghat as there is a temple of Bhashmeshwar Mahadev near this ghat. This Bhashmeshwar Ghat area was constructed and maintained in the year 2067 BS.
