"Durga Pujo: Devi Bawron" : The final embracing before parting

| Description |
English: A final touch of embracing by the mothers. The goddess is seen as a daughter who has come in home and stayed for 4 days. and finally at the last day she has to return from our world to "Kailash" , her husbands abode and hers also since as per Hindu belief a woman's actual abode is her husband's home. So, before the idol immersion in water, final goodbye is said by feeding her with sweets, water, and she is caressed and vermillion is smeared on her forehead(a sign of being married and husband in good health). This festival happens in Autumn. The festival is famous in Kolkata for its unique way of blending art with devotion. A Priest is being seen performing the rites as per Vedic Instructions.
