Description
English: Infared sensor-enabled Bicycle & Pedestrian counter setup in tandem with an Automatic Traffic Recorder (ATR) on a shared-use path along Riverside Avenue in Burlington, Vermont, August 2009. The setup was intended to capture bicycle data discretely from pedestrian data; by subtracting the ATR-collected data captured via pnuematic tubes for bicycles (extending to the MetroCount ATR next to the light post) from the aggregate data captured via infared-sensor of bicycle & pedestrian counter (affixed to the signpost), thereby deriving an estimate of discrete pedestrian data.
