Description
Norsk bokmål: Bikkjebakkmyra fungerer i dag som et verdifullt våtmarksområde. Navnet stammer fra den nærliggende plassen Bikkjebakken (tidligere kalt Bringebærstuen) nord for myra. Før var myra en viktig ressurs for gården. Torva kunne brukes både i fjøset som strø for dyra og som gjødsel og jordforbedring på åkeren. Under krigen 1940-45 var det mangel på energi til industrien i distriktet. Både RA og Mustad brukte torv til å fyre med. På myrer rundt Raufoss, ved Trevatn og på Askimmyra ovenfor Hunndalen jobbet mange med torvtaking. Bikkjebakkmyra var ikke noe unntak. Vannet i myra er i dag samlet i små kulper, et resultat av denne torvtakingen.
