A lever drawn by Galilei

Summary edit

Description
English: In the gure, ab represents a line passing through two xed points, respectively a

and b; at the ends of this line hang, as you can see, two large equal weights wc and wd; which pull it with great strength and keep it straight. If from the central point of this line, that we call e; we suspend a small weight at will, we say wh; the line ab will drop towards the point f and due to its lengthening it will force the two weights in c and d to rise. This will always happen, even when wc is much larger

than wh.
