English: Wolfgang Müller von Königswinter on an issue title page (here on page 625 in the annual anthology) of the magazine "Über Land und Meer.", No. 40, subtitle: Allgemeine Illustrirte Zeitung, ed. by F. W. Hackländer, fifth volume, tenth volume, July 1863, published by Eduard Hallberger, Stuttgart. According to the caption, the woodcut is by Schweißinger, presumably by Georg Schweißinger or Georg Karl Schweißinger. According to the caption, the photograph used as a model for the woodcut is supposed to be by Fr. (Friedrich? Franz? Fritz?) Raps, after which this woodcut by Schweißinger was made. Apparently there was a photographer in Cologne named Friedrich Raps. For example, one can find an advertisement from 1870 in the Cologne address book. It says: "Photographisches Atelier von Friedrich Raps, (Firma Sallinger & Comp), Coeln, Nro. 16, Comödienstraße Nro. 16".

Allerdings mit spärlichsten Angaben.) Es gab in Köln offenbar einen Photographen namens Friedrich Raps, man findet z. B. eine Werbeanzeige von 1870, im Kölner Adressbuch. Dort steht: "Photographisches Atelier von Friedrich Raps, (Firma Sallinger & Comp), Coeln, Nro. 16, Comödienstraße Nro. 16". |
