Summary edit

Description
English: Binton Bridges This is the northern (Binton) end of the bridges across the Warwickshire River Avon between Welford-on-Avon and Binton. The bridges were built between 1804 and 1809, replacing an earlier bridge, and use two islands in the river as "stepping stones". This end of the bridge was rebuilt and widened in 1960 and the newer stonework can be clearly seen. The obvious boundary between that and earlier work marks the location of the more northerly of the two intermediate islands. The arm of the river on the far side of the bridge is used for moorings by locally owned boats, and one such can be seen though the northernmost (left-hand) arch. The main navigation channel is, however, at the south end of the bridge, beyond the island on the extreme right of the picture.
