Deutsch: Trier. – In fast allen Teilen Deutschlands werden Bioabfälle mittels Tonnen in jedem Haushalt abgeholt. Eine der wenigen Ausnahmen ist der Trierer Raum. Der Zweckverband Abfallwirtschaft Region Trier sammelt Bioabfälle nur über Container, die im öffentlichen Raum ähnlich wie Altglascontainer (und oft gemeinsam mit diesen) aufgestellt sind ("Wertstoffinsel"). Die Haushalte sind verpflichtet, Bioabfälle zu den Containern zu bringen, was in dünn besiedelten Gegenden weite Wege erfordern kann.
English: Trier, Germany. – In almost all parts of Germany, organic waste is collected in specific waste bins in every household. One of the few exceptions is the Trier area. The local waste management organisation Zweckverband Abfallwirtschaft Region Trier does not collect organic waste from individual homes, but only sets up biowaste dumpsters in public spaces (typically next to glass recycling containers). Households are obliged to bring their organic waste to these dumpsters, which, in sparsely populated areas, may be at quite a long distance from home. |
