| Description |
English: Bird Watching Hide, Bran Sands In a rather dilapidated state. The plaque to the left of the door says "This area has been given to Teesside Works Ecology Club to manage as a nature conservation area. We aim to encourage a wide range of plants, birds, amphibians, and insects to colonise and make use of this habitat. The results of our efforts of our volunteer group have given us so much pleasure. Please do not spoil our efforts. If you would like to join our group please contact the Environmental Services Department." Most likely dating from the time when British Steel owned the iron and steel works. Since being sold to Corus and later Tata the workforce has been dramatically reduced which has probably led to the demise of the club and the neglect of the nature conservation area. |
