SummaryEdit

Description
English: Bisterne Common from Lugden Barrow, New Forest Lugden Barrow defines the eastern corner of the pentagonal boundary of Bisterne Common. This large area of heathland was severed from the New Forest (to the east) by the creation of Dur Hill Inclosure in 1962. Hampshire Treasures describes this adjacent common in Ringwood parish as "An area of heathland and valley bog, continuous with the New Forest, but outside its perambulation, with good typical species." The broad, marshy valley shown here is called Lugden Bottom.
