Summary

Description
English: This adult Black-headed Ibis was changing from breeding plumage to regular plumage. The pink patch behind the neck was conspicuous, and this was likely bright red when the bird was incubating. The bird was part of a mixed flock consisting of nearly 25 Black-headed Ibis, and several waders including godwits, redshanks, and other sandpipers. The photograph was taken in a flooded agricultural field in Jhajjar district of Haryana in north-central India.
