| Description |
Black Rock Lighthouse. It was a foggy day when I went to get this lighthouse but this boy was out flying his kite. There has been a lighthouse here since 1848. The original was the square wooden building that was both a light tower and keeper's home. The light that is here now replaced the original lighthouse in 1967, it is a white cylindrical fiberglass tower 10.4 meters (34ft) high with two red horizontal bands and a flashing white light. Location: West of Canada Creek, south shore of the Minas Channel Scenic Drive: Evangeline Trail Began and Lit: 1967 Structure Type: Round white fiberglass tower with two red horizontal bands Tower Height: 10.36m (34ft) Light Height: 14.95m (49ft) feet above water level |
