There is usually only one young born after a gestation period of 226-232 days. The baby is weaned when it is 6-10 months old; Social Structure: Groups of spider monkeys form exclusive communities that break into small groups; Behavior: Foraging is done during the early morning hours; Status: No special status; Interesting Facts: Spider monkeys are the most expert climbers of all monkeys.
