The Donovan-Corkery Logging Company was in business from ca. 1923 to ca. 1934, headquartered in Aberdeen and logging in the Wishkah River Valley. The Wishkah River rises in the Wishkah watershed between Wynooche and Humptulips rivers in northeast Grays Harbor County. It then flows south twenty-six miles to Grays Harbor at Aberdeen. The name is a distortion of the Indian word Woosh-kla, meaning stinking water or stink river. One Indian tale reports that a whale swam some distance up the river and died.
