Description

NPS/Patrick Myers November is #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth, honoring the diverse cultures of American Indian tribes across the United States. Blanca Peak, located just south of Great Sand Dunes, is one of four sacred mountains to the Navajo (Dine') people. Called 'Sisnaajini' in their language ('Dawn' or 'White Shell' Mountain), many Navajo people visit the mountain each year.
