| Description |
I am on Bloor Street, the main east-west thoroughfare of Toronto. While East Bloor Street is home to the Danforth, which is the largest Greek community in North America, I am choosing to explore West Bloor first. Love this sight of an LGBT friendly church, in a city that was North America's first to legalize gay marriages. It is also notable that the church hosts a Korean-speaking congregation. That would be unthinkable south of the border, where Korean immigrants have led the way in homophobia (and my home state, California, had just paid a heavy price six months earlier, in the form of Proposition 8, as a result). |
