Description
English: Within the Historical National Park, there are various historical artifacts in and around the ancient city of Hattusas (Boğazköy), which was the capital of the Hittites, one of the oldest civilizations of Anatolia. City walls, Lion Gate, Yer gate and Yazılıkaya are the main examples of these. Hattusha, which was the capital city during the Hittite Empire period, that is, in the 14th and 13th centuries BC, has been on the "World Cultural Heritage List" of UNESCO since 1986. The cuneiform tablet archives found here are also on UNESCO's "Memory of the World List" since 2001.
