Description
English: Woodcut illustration of a reliquary of Saint Candidus (Mosan, 12th c.) in the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels, Belgium. One of 66 illustrations in Bock & Willemsen's 1872 publication on the church treasures of St. Servatius and Our Lady, both in Maastricht. The illustration of this object in a Brussels museum is included here because it was originally a companion piece (along with 3 similar reliquaries) to the so-called Noodkist (reliquary chest of Saint Servatius) in the Treasury of the Basilica of St Servatius in Maastricht, Netherlands.
