Description

Bodhi Tataung is a new and massive monument complex still being built (as of 2010).

The standing Buddha rising over the jungle is a whopping 423 ft high. Those squares in the statue are actually the windows for each floor. You will eventually be able to go up inside it, but at the time I was there, the elevator wasn't open and working yet.

In front of the standing Buddha is a 312 ft reclining Buddha, the 430 ft golden Aung Setkya Paya and over 1000 smaller stupas.

What was even more amazing about the site was that as big as it was, I was the only person there for most of my visit, like visiting Disney World by yourself. It was weird.
