Description
English: Part of a diary from an unidentified British officer serving under General Monson in the Second_Anglo-Maratha_War The diary and accompanying letters are property of the vicars of Sydenham parish, oxfordshire, held in deposit by the Bodleian library. This is the start of the diary volume, headed "Col. Monson's retreat". Dated 7 July 1804, athough the document may be a rewrite from a subsequent date.
