Summary
editDescriptionBoscia foetida subsp. rehmanniana03.jpg |
English: Boscia foetida subsp. rehmanniana - Matlabas River, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The topiary effect in which the trunk is bare and the foliage comes down to a fixed level, shows the browse line below which game and livestock have been able to browse. The association with the termite nests probably is partly mutualistic, the tree supplying organic material and the termites and the mounds offering protection for the trunks, conserving moisture, and effluvia that nourish the tree. |
