English: Botanic Gardens railway station (site), Hull, Yorkshire Opened in 1853 as "Hull Cemetery" by the York & North Midland Railway on the line from Hull Paragon to Victoria Docks, this station closed in 1854 but was reopened by the North Eastern Railway in 1866 as "Cemetery Gates", now serving also the lines to Withernsea and Hornsea. The station was renamed "Botanic Gardens" in 1881. It closed to passengers in 1964 and completely in 1965. View north along the line where it crossed Spring Bank on a level crossing. The station was situated on the far side, now covered by the later corner building. |
